See the First Photos From Julian Fellowes’ New Period Drama ‘Belgravia’

Filming is officially under way on Belgravia the new period drama from Julian Fellowes, the creator behind the mega-popular Downton Abbey. And to celebrate U.K. network ITV and U.S. cable channel Epix have released a handful of first-look images from the show.

Spoiler alert: It looks like everything that we expect from a Julian Fellowes situation.

Based on a novel of the same name that the Downton creator penned back in 2016, Belgravia stars several familiar faces, including Alice Eve, Tamsin Greg, Philip Glenister, Harriet Walter and Tom Wilkenson.

The series follows a series of secrets and scandals set in 19th century London, when the upper echelons of society began to rub shoulders with the emerging industrial nouveau rich. The story begins on the eve of the Battle of Waterloo, when the Duchess of Richmond throws a high society party in Brussels for the Duke of Wellington. James and Alice Trenchard are among the guests, and the event sets in motion a series of events that will have consequences for decades to come as secrets unravel behind the porticoed doors of London’s grandest neighborhood.”

The bulk of the story takes place twenty-five years after this party, when the Trenchards are settled into the newly developed – and quite posh, all the way up to the modern day – Belgravia neighborhood and it certainly seems there will be no shortage of drama.

The Trenchard family, of course, is part of the nouveau riche, having made a fortune in property management. And if Downton has taught us anything, it’s that high society isn’t exactly welcoming to people they deem “new money”. Class issues, ahoy!
